Ta Da! My New and Improved Sewing/Craft Room!!!

My husband has been busy making my sewing/craft room more organized and more efficient.

Here is a before picture

And ta da! My new cabinets!

I have a light under the cabinets over my sewing machine. You really can't have too much light when sewing/crafting.

These cabinets are really great. As you can see, I have a large cabinet to the left that matches.

Here is a better pic

We bought that cabinet soon after we moved into this house. The cabinets are made by RSI Home Products. Here is their website. I think Lowe's is the only store who sells them. Anyway, you have to put them together which takes a little time, but I think the end result is well worth it. Don't you?

New Scarves, Finally!

Well, better late than never. Here are the pictures I promised of our newly made scarves.

Blueberry Mocha

Safari

Purple Pixee Dust
(This scarf has a special name and is spelled a special way. One of Beth's cats is named Pixee.)

I would have posted these earlier; however, I have had a little construction going on in my sewing room and haven't been able to sew. I will post pictures of the changes tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy the scarves. Beth will be putting them on Etsy soon.

Denise's Oven

On Thanksgiving, I (and my husband) made some pies. One of them was a Pecan Pie. The pie turned out great; however, it bubbled over in my oven and made a mess.

Yuck!

Well, Beth recommended a product made by Shaklee called Scour Off Heavy-Duty Paste. She found it on Bonnie's blog called House of Grace. (If you haven't read House of Grace, you've been missing out! Bonnie has a fantastic blog with amazing cleaning tips using all non-toxic Shaklee products, healthy meal ideas, and super amazing thrifty decorating tips! Go check it out here!)

Anyway, Beth placed an order, and she brought it over yesterday. I couldn't wait and used the Shaklee Scour Off Heavy Duty Paste today, and WOW! what a difference.

See for yourself!

The great thing about this product is there is no nasty chemical smell (it actually smells very good), and it was very kind to my hands. It took a little bit of scrubbing to get everything off (oven has been used several times since Thanksgiving and spills were especially burnt on). Next time, now that I have this fantastic product, I won't wait to clean my oven. I will clean it as the spills occur.

Thanks goes out to Beth (for her advice) and Bonnie (for her blog and Shaklee products). You girls rock!

Beth Was Here! :)

Remember the picture of the sewing/craft room where everything was nice and neat. Well, here is what it looks like after Beth comes over, and we get to work. But you can't make any progress without making a little mess. Actually, it doesn't look bad and has looked a WHOLE lot worse.

Sewing Room After

Beth put four scarves together today. I need to sew them and will be doing that tomorrow. We also have two ready to be assembled. One of them is a new design by Beth, and we are always excited to see how our new ones turn out. So stay tuned for the big reveal. I will be posting pictures on either Tuesday or Wednesday of the scarves which were assembled today, and Beth will be adding them to our Etsy shop.

Things to Come!

Right now, we just have scarves in our shop, but that will soon change. We have several scarves ready to be made and will be working on them tomorrow (see previous post). Look for fabric/felt flower pins and aprons soon. We also have some collectible items we have picked up over the last several months that we will be adding. We have several ideas, still in the planning stages, for more handcrafted items. Keep checking back!
Our shop and business are changing daily. It is an exciting time for both of us, and we look forward to what the future brings. I can say with much certainty that I am enjoying every minute of it because I am spending it with my wonderful daughter. What more could a mom ask for! :)

Scarves in the Works!

Beth will be putting together several scarves tomorrow to add to our Etsy shop. They are:

Purple Pixee Dust
(skinny scarf)

Safari
(skinny scarf)
This picture was taken very quickly before a craft show. After we make the new one, we will change the picture.

Blueberry Mocha
(wide scarf)
Same story on this picture.

We are also making another Auburn skinny scarf if anyone is interested. There is already one in our Etsy shop.

(NOTE ON OUR TEAM SCARVES: These scarves are not licensed NCAA products. They are, however, handcrafted from licensed NCAA fabric. We are not affiliated with or sponsored by the NCAA.)

After I get the scarves sewn and trimmed, they will be added to our Etsy shop. Look for them on Monday or Tuesday.
